I find that when I’m not making much progress or I’m focussing on other projects in my life (right now it’s building my art Instagram @pawtraits_by_galacticat ) I tend not to post as much. I haven’t lost or gained any weight for the past 6 months. I’m not upset about it, I’m not stuck at a high point like I was going back a few years ago so that’s a positive!! I have fluctuations like any other woman, sometimes I’m bloated, sometimes my body looks amazing, but both of those don’t seem like things to post on Instagram because it’s not visible progress. Some argue that you should never exercise with the flu or fever because the immune system is working overtime to fight off that infection. Exercise is a form of physical stress that makes the immune system’s task more difficult. Others state that exercise is beneficial. I personally believe that it’s perfectly fine as long as you don’t push beyond accustomed workouts as that may escalate the conditions into something worse.

Alrighty as promised in my story here’s my granola bites recipe! KEEP IN MIND this recipe is a bit flexible. Some dates are softer than others and some peanut butters are more oily than others so consistencies may vary. You want the dough (PB and date mixture) to hold together firmly in a ball in the blender. If you need to add a bit of water go for it! I also didn’t have flax today so I added extra chia and I used a scoop of Vega greens protein powder to boost them up 💪🏾. Don’t be afraid to play around with them a bit and keep in mind that the chia and oatmeal take a few minutes to soak up the moisture in the dough so let it sit and be patient before adding extra dry mix🙃 INGREDIENTS -1 cup packed dates -1.5 cups oats -2tbsp chia seeds -2 tbsp flax seeds -1 cup peanut butter -2 cups oatmeal -1/2 cup roasted unsalted almonds -1/2 or 3/4 cups Dried cranberries -1/2 cup dark chocolate chips DIRECTIONS: 1) in a food processor blend the oats, chia and flax until you get a more ground down dry mixture. Remove and set aside in a bowl. 2) in a blender ( I used my vitamin) or food processor blend peanut butter and dates until you get a gooey homogeneous mixture. Depending how dry or soft your dates are you may need to soak them in hot water before hand or add some hot water to the blender BUT JUST ENOUGH TO FACILITATE BLENDING! 3) in a separate bowl mix the wet and dry mixture. 4 ) add chocolate chips, dried cranberries, roasted almonds and any other fixins you fancy 😋 5) press into a pan and refrigerate for 5+ hours 6) pack in your lunches, your gym bag, share with friends, devour and enjoy😜 They're naturally sweetened by dates, a great source of fibre and omega 3's from the chia and flax and a perfect snack on the run🏃🏽‍♀️ happy Thursday everybody ❤️❤️
