What a major difference actively practicing better running form has done for my running pace! My run this evening felt so so good and, at times when I wasn’t super fatigued, felt nearly effortless. Why people fight gravity and try and trudge through a run, feeling like crap, is beyond me! Fall forward, drive through your hips, short, quick steps, and pull your feet up under you so you aren’t shuffling. Those are my keys to success. And, man, does it feel good!

When she’s not feeling her best she craves a spicy ginger soup we found close to our house in Kuala Lumpur. I’ve tried for years to recreate it. Today’s version met with her approval. . Ginger, garlic, shallots, lemongrass, and a red chili minced and cooked in olive oil. Ground turmeric (because have you ever stained your fingers from the fresh root? I have), peppercorns, and salt were next. Bone broth, lime juice, cilantro, mushrooms, and coconut milk finished it off. Not exactly like our favorite Malay recipe, but my girl loved it and that’s what counts. . The tablecloth? Yes, that’s a Kantha. . KL friends, I can’t remember the name of the restaurant but it was was the organic cafe in between Hari Hari Datang and Ampang Grocer, next door to the Belgium Pub/Cafe. Roasted garlic cauliflower soup! This soup showed up just in time for fall. Roast a few things, simmer a few things and blend to creamy perfection! ▪️Cut 1 head cauliflower into florets and peel and cube 2 beets (I used chioggia “striped” beets). Arrange evenly on baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper. ▪️Take 1 whole head of garlic, cut off the root end of garlic just so the individual cloves are exposed. Drizzle with olive oil and wrap in foil. Place on baking sheet with beets and cauliflower. ▪️Roast in oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. ▪️Slice 1/2 medium yellow onion and sauté in large stockpot with 1 tbsp olive oil. Once onions are clear add in 2 cups broth of choice and 1 can coconut cream. Season with salt & pepper. ▪️Add roasted beets and cauliflower as well as garlic cloves. Remove cloves from skin of garlic carefully as it will still be hot. Simmer for 15-20 minutes adding any seasoning you’d like. I added 1 tsp smoked paprika, 1/2 tsp celery seed and 1 tsp beet powder. ▪️Once veggies are soft, use an immersion blender to blend together until creamy. I garnished this soup with some Moroccan spiced crunchy chickpeas. Well @fawnandcubmarket is over and today was a day of rest. I think I talked to nearly 500 people yesterday and that’s not a stretch. It was such an amazing experience and it was great meeting everyone. Due to some heavy rain in the beginning and running around trying to help people out, I was unable to stop by and purchase everything I wanted, however I did not miss the opportunity to grab one of these boerewors from @mrbiltongjerky when I had second . I patiently waited until dinner time to fire this beauty on my BBq (see story) and it was worth the wait. It was one of the better sausages I’ve had and as you can see it also passed the test with my youngest. She went to town on it as well. The Boerewors is a South African farmer sausage. The name actually translates to that directly. It’s made up of 2/3 beef and 1/3 pork. Amazing blend of meets and spices. I often make my burgers with similar ratios of 🐖 and 🐄 as I really enjoy a hint of the 🐖 in my ground up grub. All in all, epic job @mrbiltongjerky . A year and a half ago I made a vision board, and cut out all random pics of things that I wanted to happen and pasted them on there. One of the things I wanted to do more of was travel. I put a passport and a beautiful pic with a tree just like this and scenery from the sunny coast on there above the word travelling (I just wanted a nice pic in it😂)The amazing thing was that immediately after I ended up in India, and one by one all my visions became a reality. It was only two months prior to coming here once I had felt the call to the Sunshine Coast that I actually looked at my vision board and realised it was on there the whole time! It wasn’t even intentional but I guess on a soul level it was! Point is you can literally create your own reality, as long as u put the intention out there & don’t try to force, suffocate or put a time frame on things, you can have anything you desire! You put in the work, you start to see the results, and you get addicted to the process...all while forgetting that rest is a part of that process. For so long, I never took a rest day. I started seeing results following my fitness program and skipped the rest day that was built into each week with the thought that I would see even better results if I worked even harder, even more often. The only thing I found was consistently sore muscles and joints, and an incredibly tired body. You know my mantra, treat your body well and it will thank you. Well, part of treating your body well is allowing it to rest and recover every now and then. I promise it is worth it. Today’s rest and recovery took the form of lounging around all day with a nap on the couch with the pup, and now doing some work before the Eagles game. I have new and exciting things coming for the girls in my challenge group! My trip so far has definently been an emotional one, it was so incredibly difficult to leave Shae with her broken collarbone, I'm very anxious right now, stressing about family, stressing about work, stressing about production & fabric, stressing about stressing really!!!!! Ive been keeping up with exercising because i find its so helpful to calm my mind and also been making sure the food im eating is super clean, super fresh & even super cute!!!! I'm hoping today is a good productive monday, samples are being made so I think once i see them my mind will settle, thanks for all your love as always, you guys are massive legends!!!!! Xxx
